Margot for Littleton Planning Board
Helping our town make better decisions by communicating with the people who live here.
What I value
Sustainable economic development
Planning decisions should support sustainable economic, environmentally-friendly growth to meet the needs of residents now and into the future, while honoring the history and protecting the resources that make Littleton so wonderful.
Community input and collaboration
Civic engagement goes both ways: residents deserve meaningful, layered opportunities to get information in plain language and participate in conversations about decisions that affect our town.
Resident-driven planning and development
Planning and development decisions should reflect and prioritize the vision of people who live here, balanced with government mandates—not just the interests of developers that seek to build here.
Why I’m running
Communication matters when a small group makes decisions that affect thousands
Trust is fostered by consistent communication, sharing information, and engaging with humility.
Meetings should be more accessible. Our Boards need to open more lines of accessible communication with residents, both in-person and virtual.
That’s why I am running. I believe in civic stewardship as a responsibility and a commitment to helping our community grow in a collaborative and sustainable way.

What I offer
How to build trust through transparency
Across consulting, teaching, writing, and volunteer work, I help people and organizations understand each other, communicate clearly, and build trust through transparency.
I want to bring to the Planning Board the same expertise I’ve brought to my clients for more than 25 years.
I’ve worked with organizations like Harvard, Tufts, Bates College, Fidelity, Timberland, Puma, Sallie Mae, Genzyme, and others.
Regardless of their industry or audience, they all have a responsibility to engage with their audiences if they want to understand and serve their needs.
Littleton residents deserve that same engagement with their Planning Board.
Greetings from a snowy day in Littleton Town Forest

Who I am
A proud Littleton resident
I’ve lived in Littleton since 2014. Before that, I lived in Lowell, studied in Pittsburgh, and grew up in upstate New York in a small farming town three hours west of here (that also has its roots in the Revolutionary era).
Here, I value our variety. I love the thoughtfully developed mix of accessible shopping, community spaces, and lush conservation land.
Where else can you find multiple supermarkets, miles of hiking trails, Revolutionary-era landmarks, and a spectacular library all within 10 minutes of each other?
Looking ahead
My hope for the future
The Planning Board has a lot of power to shape the future of our community, and a lot of responsibility to do it in an economically sustainable, environmentally friendly, and user-friendly way.
I want to see us embrace those responsibilities for community outreach and communication.
If we grant waivers to empower developers, I want to ensure residents see equal or greater benefits.
I want someone on the Board who thinks in terms of user research, has the humility to gird their knowledge with the expertise of others, and can cultivate more open communication so the community shows up to keep the Board accountable to residents.
I think of this as civic stewardship and responsibility, and I’m eager to contribute and collaborate to serve our town.
Cheers to Littleton!
