Get your brand sorted… finally!

July 5, 2016

After months exploring design, printing, packaging, shipping, and the user experience around all those elements, I’m thrilled to announce: BrandSort cards are now available for purchase! Since 2012, workshop attendees have asked when they could buy the deck of cardsorting cards we use in the brand attributes exercise—the same cardsorting exercise I write about in Content Strategy at Work, the same cardsorting exercise I’ve been honing and practicing with clients since 2000.

If my response in 2012 was “soon!” can we acknowledge that I meant “soon” on a geologic timeline? Thank you.

And thanks to the dedication of friends like Josh Silverman and Rick Allen, and the savvy folks at Jakprints, you can now get a BrandSort deck of your own. In addition to the brand attribute cards, it includes seven cards that detail the process and offer example questions to help you facilitate the exercise with your clients or team. They come shrink-wrapped in a sturdy, glossy white paperboard box emblazoned withe BrandSort logo in a lively, vivid lime green—you know it from Content Strategy at Work, this site, and also my prom dress, if we cruised through 1996 together.

The cards themselves feature the friendly and supremely legible Benton Sans on a low-sheen card stock. I sweated those details so you won’t: your participants will be able to see the words without leaning too far over the table and your cards will resist fingerprints even as you use them in workshop after workshop. At 3.25″ x 6.25″ they’re sized to be taken seriously—just like your content strategy process and resulting message architecture.

Ready to try them out? I can’t wait to hear how you use BrandSort in your own work. Share your feedback through the contact form or via Twitter and let’s see your process in play!
